But who won? And did the Corvette driver embarrass himself/herself?

Have fun in the club btw!

As the owner of a decatted, demuffled, m62 powered e38, I can agree that it sounds very mean at wot. Very mean indeed.

I don’t really know who won but I think the Vette did, the BMW had extra weight with three passengers lol. It seems like the “special” kind of people are around at Friday nights.

I imagine it being a bit heavy with V8 but the chassis is world beating none the less.

I have an e39 and an e60, honestly the e39 feels like a boat compared to the 60. I’ve also heard/read from multiple people the e60 is one of/the best handling 5-series chassis made which I believe. I went from a boxster to that and it was not a huge step down (not that I do track days or anything). Just my $0.02. Still love my e39 because v8 WAGON

Never knew that, I always assumed that the e39 must be the pinnacle 5-Series. That’s what the popular opinion is anyways. Never driven either of those so if you have two I believe you.

The e60 gets a lot of hate because its unnecessarily overengineered/overcomplicated/unreliable - and rightfully so. The market price for early model e60s is lower than e39s now. But the handling and power are pretty fucking amazing when its working well. If it wasn’t in the shop every other month I wouldn’t be selling my 550

That’s why the e60 is on my potential first car list. A classmate from last year bought a 520d (I’m im Germany) and he’s blown away by it. Finding a not beaten to hell and back and/or high mileage e60 is possible atm but I don’t know for how long it will stay that way.
